I am a huge fan of the Brewer Clifton wines. I am always amazed how big the wines are and how much alcohol they contain. The real kicker is that they are still very earthy and spicey. Wines that are that ripe tend to loose everything to the fruit. But not Brewer Clifton. That is what makes them some special and unique to me. I am assuming they must do almost 100% whole cluster fermentation on these wines. What ever they are doing you have got to love it. Cheers!!!
Au Bon Climate used to be one of my favorites about 4 years ago. At that point they represented the best quality Pinot from the Central Coast. So many new wineries has been formed since then and over all the quality of wine making has improved. It is still very much a note worthy winery but many other has surpassed it at this point (according to my taste). I you love Pinots like I do you have to try some of them. They are awsome. I have quite a few reviewed already and many more will come.
